PARC notice to advertisers - thank you for reading
Various complaints regarding the PARC Swap Page being used for commercial purposes were noted. However, the Club welcomes all suppliers of ham equipment and will preferably not create a separate commercial section.
The Club would however like to make the following rules:
Local commercial firms should make a simple worded-only placement with an indicative picture of newly manufactured or imported equipment priced in South African Rand with a link to a relevant website for further detail.
Trading hams - with no personal website - when advertising imports or NOS with South African pricing, are to avoid the commercial spreads of that equipment and instead furnish main specifications, an indicative photo plus a link to the equipment site if available. Second hand items should be photographed in their current state and described as usual.
These rules do not prevent any commercial or private advertising but rather introduce a different format without enormous real estate advertisements and then have links to click for more detail.
Simple rules for a nice presentation: Make use of the horizontal space available - 800px maximum. Photograph multiple items next to each other. Prevent background clutter. Use a photo editor to crop away what is irrelevant. Placements with extremely large photos will summarily be removed.
